The 100th edition of Luna Park in Perugia is commencing with a grand fireworks display. Scheduled for Saturday, October 14th, the festivities will begin at 3:30 PM with a parade featuring majorettes and popular bands, attended by city and regional authorities. Later in the evening, at 11:30 PM, a spectacular fireworks show will celebrate the arrival of the amusement park, which will entertain visitors in Pian di Massiano until November 12th.

Throughout the event, which boasts 114 attractions, including food stalls, there will be a photo exhibition showcasing images contributed by citizens. This exhibition, located on a 10×5 meter viewing platform in a central area, provides a unique narrative of the tradition’s history.

A related initiative includes a competition for primary and secondary schools, inviting them to submit drawings and themes by October 31st. Winning schools (one per section) will receive a prize of 2,000 euros, and their works will be exhibited within the photo exhibition.

Other highlights include a Halloween evening on October 31st with masked entertainers and discounts for those in original costumes. Additionally, on November 8th, 9th, and 10th, Children’s Day will allow access to attractions for just 50 cents. This offer is made possible through the distribution of 27,000 vouchers (each with 12 vouchers) among nurseries, primary, and lower secondary schools. Lastly, two free days for people with disabilities will be arranged in cooperation with institutes and local authorities.

Luna Park holds a special place in the community as a hub for identity, socialization, and moments of solidarity. Citizen involvement through photo submissions underscores the city’s enthusiasm for embracing the joyous celebrations offered by the amusement park. The event celebrates both tradition and community spirit.

Sponsored by the Regional Legislative Assembly, the photo exhibition offers a captivating journey through the evolution of attractions and community customs, bridging the past and present.
